FC varsity teams headed to Indy Showcase
Both the Franklin County varsity boys’ and varsity girls’ basketball teams will get an opportunity to compete in a unique event in the state capital this Saturday, January 13. The Wildcats and Lady Wildcats will be participating in the State Fairgrounds Showcase at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, competing in two of the six games that take place during the day.

“It's going to be a fun atmosphere on Saturday,” FC girls' coach Doug Robertson said. “It will be a little different playing in an arena that is usually an ice hockey rink. We've got to take advantage of it.”
After the conclusion of the first game, it will be the Franklin County boys’ turn to battle Hagerstown. The approximate start ofthe contest between the Wildcats (4-7) and the Tigers (6-4) is 12:40 p.m. There is a 15-minute warm-up period between each game.
“We don't know a lot about Hagerstown except that they lost a lot of experience from last year,” FC boys' coach Eric Ebrens said. “It will be a great experience for our guys.”
The third game of the day will feature the Triton Central Lady Tigers (16-1) against the Lady Dragons of New Palestine (12-4) at approximately 2:20 p.m.
The next game pits the Mooresville (5-5) Pioneers against the New Palestine (6-5) Dragons. The penultimate game of the day features the Martinsville (6-4) Artesians and Guerin Catholic (8-5) Golden Eagles.
