The late Warren Zevon had a hit single from 1978 named “Lawyers, Guns and Money.”
That was almost the theme song as local police raided an apartment at 301 Main Street recently.
During the subsequent search, police claim they found drugs, guns and money, all within 500 feet of St. Michael School.
Arrested and charged were Clowe Cheyenne Marie Smith, 19, Brookville and John Dakota Mullins, 24, Brookville.
Mullins and Smith were preliminarily charged with Maintaining a common nuisance, as a Level 6 Felony; Dealing in marijuana (within 500 feet of a school), as a Level 6 Felony; Possession of marijuana, as a Level 6 Felony; and Possession of drug paraphernalia, as a class A misdemeanor
Police said they found 2.5 pounds of marijuana, about $2,300 in currency, various drug paraphernalia and loaded firearms.
If convicted of a Level 6 Felony, they could receive sentences ranging from six months to 2.5 years in the Franklin County Security Center.
They had initial hearings on Tuesday, May 15.
