Archery competes at state meet

The Franklin County Archery Team competed at the National Archery in the Schools Program Indiana state finals Saturday, March 9. FC finished 24 out of 36 teams who were invited based on scores through the regular season. FC finished with 3,204 points. FC’s highest scorers were senior Elizabeth Brock with a 280. She was 51 out of 999 female participants. Second was sophomore Chloe Hoffman with a 279. She was 10th among sophomore females. Third was senior Sheridan Murrell, 276; fourth was junior Meadow Nobbe, 275; fifth was sophomore Rebecca Weaver, 269; and sixth was senior Olivia Fields, 266. The highest scoring male for FC was freshman Klayton Dorrel. He shot a 260 which was good enough for 413 out of 1,107 males at the state finals. Second among the males was sophomore Trent Boyer who also shot a 260. The tie breaker in a case like that is the number of 10s (bullseyes) registered on the day. Dorrel had nine and Boyer finished with seven.
