By John Estridge, Sports Editor

Franklin County senior Alex Bischoff struck out 20 Lions while tossing a nine-inning no hitter Monday night, May 13.

His 20 strikeouts are believed to be a school record.

Bischoff’s team went on to defeat visiting Rushville 3-2 in 12 innings.

After Bischoff pitched his nine innings, sophomore teammate Joe Fields came in and threw two more no-hit innings of relief.

Rushville got a couple of hits in the top of the 12th and pushed across two runs, for a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the 12th, senior Dalton Durbin led off for the Wildcats with a walk. Fields hit a single, and then sophomore Dominic Reeves sacrificed the runners to second and third with a bunt.

Senior Evan Ariens tied the game with a two-run single before fellow senior Tommy Ratz delivered a walk-off double to right.

FC went to 9-5 on the season and 8-4 in the conference.
