Alex Bischoff strikes out 20 in 9-inning no hitter

Franklin County senior Alex Bischoff struck out 20 Lions while tossing a nine-inning no hitter Monday night, May 13.
His 20 strikeouts are believed to be a school record.
Bischoff’s team went on to defeat visiting Rushville 3-2 in 12 innings.
After Bischoff pitched his nine innings, sophomore teammate Joe Fields came in and threw two more no-hit innings of relief.
Rushville got a couple of hits in the top of the 12th and pushed across two runs, for a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the 12th, senior Dalton Durbin led off for the Wildcats with a walk. Fields hit a single, and then sophomore Dominic Reeves sacrificed the runners to second and third with a bunt.
Senior Evan Ariens tied the game with a two-run single before fellow senior Tommy Ratz delivered a walk-off double to right.
FC went to 9-5 on the season and 8-4 in the conference.
