Franklin County 4-H Fair is July 15-20

Often signaling the winding down of summer, the Franklin County 4-H Fair is returning July 15-20 as the last big bang before vacation season ends and students return to school.

Pre-fair events will be taking place July 10-14. On Thursday, July 11 at 1 p.m., the 4-H Fashion Revue will be taking place. On Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m., there will be the Dog and Agility Show and at 1 p.m., the 4-H Public Speaking Contest. On Saturday, July 13, the Horse and Pony Show will be held at 8 a.m. Wrapping up the pre-fair events on Sunday, July 14 will be the 4-H Horse and Pony Contesting at 8 a.m., 4-H Sheep and Goat Check-in from 2-4 p.m., all over 4-H Livestock Check-in from 5-8 p.m. and the County Hymn Sing at 5 p.m.

Monday, July 15

*Open Class Exhibits Entered- 9-11:30 a.m.

*4-H Poultry Show- 9 a.m.

*4-H Meat Goat Show- 9 a.m.

*4-H Sheep Show- 3 p.m.

*4-H Exhibits open- 4-8 p.m.

*Red Barn Exhibits Open- 4-9 p.m.

*Commercial Exhibits Open- 6-10 p.m.

*Armband Night for Carnival Rides- 6-10 p.m.

*Public Speaking Champion

Speeches, 4-H Presentation and 10-Year Member Awards- 8 p.m.

*Touch A Truck and Cruise In- 6-9 p.m.

Tuesday, July 16

*Tuesday is Rib Eye Day

*4-H Beef and Starter Calf Show- 9 a.m.

*Rib Eye Dinner-Served by the Cattlemen's Association- 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m.

*4-H Rabbit Ambassador Contest- 2 p.m.

*Red Barn Exhibits Open- 4-9 p.m.

*4-H Exhibits Open- 4-8 p.m.

*4-H Rabbit Show- 5 p.m.

*Commercial Exhibits Open- 6-10 p.m.

*Dance Review by Vick's Studio of Dance- 6:30 p.m.

*Demolition Derby-Destruc-tion Motorsports- 7 p.m.

Wednesday, July 17

*Wednesday is Pork Day

*4-H Swine Show- 9 a.m.

*Pork Chop Dinner- served by the Pork Producers and K of C- 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m.

*Red Barn Exhibits Open- 4-9 p.m.

*4-H Exhibits Open- 4-8 p.m.

*Commercial Exhibits Open- 6-10 p.m.

*4-H Pet Show- 6 p.m.

*Family Fun Night- Pie Eating Contest- 6 p.m.

*Horse and Pony Demo and Awards- 7 p.m.

*Family Fun Night-Obstacle Course- 7 p.m.

*Lawn and Garden Tractor Races- 7 p.m.

Thursday, July 18

*4-H Exhibits Open- 4-8 p.m.

*Commercial Exhibits Open- 6-10 p.m.

*4-H Livestock Auction- 6 p.m.

*Flat Drag Races- 7 p.m.

*Red Barn Exhibits released- 8:30-9:30 p.m.

As always, the fair will wrap up on Saturday, July 20, with the clean-up at 9 a.m.; Red Barn Exhibits released from 9-11 a.m.; 4-H Exhibits released from 9-11 a.m.; Armband Night for Carnival Rides from 5-10 p.m. and Flat Drag races at 5 p.m.

The schedule is tentative and subject to change. As a reminder, the 4-H Fairgrounds are tobacco and vape free.
