Tucker Coffman, 8-0 at Invite, joins 100-Win Club
The Union County wrestling team’s appearance at the 2-day Richmond Invitational last weekend was led by Tucker Coffman going undefeated in eight matches and the team earning a 23-21 win over Northeastern.
“The highlight of the weekend was Tucker joining our 100 Career Win Club,” UC coach Dan Kelich said. “He is now at 106 wins and counting.”
Coffman won six-of-eight matches by first round pins of Union City junior Zachary Adkins, Monroe Central’s Gavin McComb, Jay County’s Derrick Potter, Lincoln senior Noah Hancock, Franklin Central’s Josh Ruley and Tri High senior Justin Greene.
Coffman pinned Winchester senior Jacob Duncan in the second round and won by forfeit in Union County’s team win over Northeastern.
Alex Fuller suffered a knee injury in his second match on the second day and was sidelined for the remainder of the invitational.
“He’s sore, but he’ll be okay,” Kelich said. “He will sit out the Centerville match, but be back for the conference meet.”
The Patriots filled eight weight classes the first day and seven on the second day.
UC freshman Matt Hampton finished 3-5, Alex Fuller 1-4, Morgan Krom 1-7, Kainin Klein 2-1, freshman Jordan Hertel 2-6 and Mike Jones 2-6.
