Dear Editor:

I wanted to make a brief pin that, while blindingly obvious to most, nevertheless-in our tumultuous and often disorienting world-remains important enough to be re-stated. A beautiful and innocent dog, surely among the most noble of all God’s creatures, was apparently abused beyond all imaginable limits and in fact treated with such grotesque barbarity that it’s release came only through an awful, protracted and painful death. That somone, a human, one of us, an individual charged with the care, the health, the comfort and - indeed- the very life of this otherwise selfless creature, could have done what is charged is unthinkable and unforgivable. I’d ask only that we all remember that , if the facts are as we understand them to be, this was a crime of that one human. Personally, it was not his age, his ethnicity, his geographical location or his profession that caused this behavior. This said story reflects on him and him alone.

Sincerly,

Lew Pringle
