Grand marshals named for Homecoming

The UCHS Student Council has made its selection for Grand Marshals of the 2018 UCHS Homecoming Parade and Alex and Brooke Murray have humbly accepted.
“I was shocked,” Alex said. “And honored at the opportunity to do this for the kids.”
The couple are lifelong residents of the immediate area.
“She grew up in Liberty, and I am from the College Corner area,” Alex said.
They are both products of the Union County/College Corner Joint School District where they were involved in National Honor Society, Student Council, golf, basketball, football and baseball before graduating in the Class of 2008.
According to student council, the couple continues to be highly supportive of the students and school.
Alex and Brooke continued their education at the college level.
Alex attended Ball State University and finished at IU East in Richmond. He is currently a banker at First Merchants Bank in Oxford.
Brooke is an IU East grad and is in her sixth year of elementary teaching at Connersville.
“I switched this year from second grade to third grade at Connersville, Brooke said.
So, in a little more than a week away at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, Alex and Brooke Murray will lead the 2018 Union County High School Homecoming Parade down Union Street.
“We’re excited,” Brooke said. “And very appreciative of the honor bestowed upon us.”
