Lady Patriots dominate in home opener

The second games of the season found the Union County girls in total control from the beginning.

UC’s 56-14 pasting of the reserve Lady Cougars set the stage for success.

The Jr. Pats held SD scoreless in the second quarter and did not allow a field goal until early in the third quarter. The win gives UC a 2-0 start at the JV level.

The varsity Patriots followed the example set by their younger peers with a 56-31 set back of the South Decatur upperclassmen.

Sophomore center Madison Gray’s 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals was the game leader in all three categories.

Both Zoe Murphy and Fayth Hill netted eight points each in the romp.

UC defense held the Lady Cougars to single digits in each of the first three quarters.
