The Franklin County Health Department today announced receiving no new positive cases for COVID-19.

Officials would like to remind citizens, while no new positives were received, it is vital to continue to stay home as much as possible, continue to practice social distancing, and wear a mask in public when social distancing is not possible.

Health officials also announced today that the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) has selected Franklin County for a drive thru testing site.

The testing will be May 28-31, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Testing will be held at the Franklin County Fairgrounds by the block building. Only one person per vehicle will be tested. Individuals are to remain in their vehicle. ISDH announced the guidelines for testing are: symptomatic healthcare workers, first responders, essential workers and/or are in a high-risk category due to age, weight, or underlying conditions. This opportunity is also available to individuals that live in the same residence as one of the priority categories and are symptomatic. All individuals must be an Indiana resident and show a valid Indiana driver’s license or identification.
