The Union County Lady Patriots celebrated Senior Night last week with a three-set win over the Tri High Lady Titans.

The UC reserves won in two sets, 25-20, 25-16, and the varsity Lady Pats posting 25-10, 25-16 and 25-10 set wins to win the Tri-Eastern match in three sets.

“After the Centerville match, we practiced really, really well the next day,” UC coach Joe Pavey said. “And the seniors all played very well on Senior Night.”
UC took care of business on the court and Grace Patrick and Emma Townsend were heavy hitter with 14 and 11 kills, respectively.

Lindsay Lang dug up 16 balls and Kasey Lang (16) and Shelby Hill (14) made many of the kills possible with 30 of the team’s 32 total assists.

“Got to do some things we have been working on to move the ball around, and it went well,” Pavey said. “Very pleased with the effort. I like where we’re at health-wise and the way we’re playing.”

UC Invitational is Oct. 12
The Lady Patriots return on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the eight-team Union County Invitational at Roy E. Stevens Gymnasium (Court #1) and the Auxilary Gym (Court #2).

Court #2 schedule beginning at 9 a.m. - Lawrence-burg vs Jay County, Shenadoah vs Adams Central, Adams Central vs Jay County, Shenandoah vs Lawrence-burg, Seventh place match, Third place match.
