Dodging a few raindrops, Brook Hill Golf Club hosted its first Saturday shotgun tournament of the 2020 season June 13 with a start at 8 a.m. The honorees were the Brookville Volunteer Fire Department and other first responders from around the Tri-state area.

According to Tony Pflum, the course's general manager, there were 28 teams of four (or 112 players) that answered the bell. The main challenge of the day came on hole number seven, a par-three playing 162 yards from the blue tees. Hirlinger Chevrolet of West Harrison was offering $10,000 toward the purchase or lease of a new vehicle for anyone sinking a hole-in-one on No. 7.

The next big event at Brook Hill is scheduled for June 27 – the Maury Schott Memorial Tournament.
