James Charles Reese, age 72, of Brookville, passed unexpectedly Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at his residence in Brookville.
Born July 23, 1952 in Batesville he was the son of the late Leonard Powell and Roxie (Lanning) Reese. On January 17, 1970 he and the former Diane Trammell were united in marriage and she survives.
He was retired, having worked in manufacturing for much of his life. In his leisure time he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, as well as traveling. Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming was always a favorite destination.
Besides Diane, his loving wife of nearly 55 years, survivors include three children, Kevin Reese of Brookville, Todd (Melody) Reese of Vevay and Vanessa Gordon of Brookville; five grandchildren, Tristin (Blake) Althoff, Bo Gordon, Gavin Reese, Jenna Gordon, Colton Reese; one great-grandchild, Silas Althoff; a brother, Duane (Margie) Reese; a sister, Marilyn (Kevin) Clark of Batesville as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, June Hull, Dorothy Phillips, Brenda Sue Wilson; three brothers, Kenny Reese, Marvin Reese, and Danny Reese; and his son-in-law, Ronald Gordon.
Family and friends visited Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, burial then followed in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
