Dale E. Howard, 76, of Greens Fork, passed away on Friday January 31, 2025. He was born in Richmond, on July 29, 1948 to Floyd and Phyllis (Caskey) Howard and lived his entire life in this area. Dale graduated in 1966 from Short High School in Liberty and then went Purdue, graduating in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. He began farming as a young boy on the family farm. Dale was a member of Union County FFA, was the adult tractor leader for Wayne County FFA and an honorary member of Hagerstown FFA. Dale was president of the Interaction Singles Club in Richmond. And of course was noted for his cover crop farming and his Blue Barrel in the Maple tree.
He and Ruthie Frost have farmed side by side for 36 years. Dale also is survived by his children, Sonja (Eric) Richards, Maria Bern, Robert (Penny) Howard and Andy Frost; four grandchildren, Samantha (Spencer) Pattee, Nathan (Katie) Richards, Robin (Cody) Frost and Jared Frost; his brother, Jay Howard; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Doerflein) Howard on February 16, 1975.
Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday February 7, 2025 and from 11 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at Noon on Saturday February 8, 2025 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. Burial will follow at Jacksonburg Cemetery.
