Mary A. Crawley

Mary A. Crawley, age 97, of Brookville passed away unexpectedly late Saturday, February 22, 2025 in the Emergency Department at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.

Born November 1, 1927 in Brookville she was the daughter of the late Edward Henry and Anna (Fliehman) Lang.  She remained a lifelong resident of Franklin County.

Mary worked as a CNA for much of her life at Elsie Dreyer and Brookville Healthcare Center.

In her leisure time she enjoyed walking, reading, and writing poetry.  She loved the Lord with all her heart and cherished time spent with her family.  She enjoyed talking politics with her children, and also working at the polls at election time.

Survivors include 10 children, Cynthia Ann Reed of Brookville, Monica Lee (Nick) Fritsch of New Alsace, Edward Martin Crawley of Brookville, Philip Allan (Tamara) Crawley of Brookville, Mary Elaine (Daren) Back of Sunman, Laura L. (Darrell) Hoog of Brookville; Brian Joseph (Pamela) Crawley of Brookville, Lisa Marie (Vince) Carr of Phoenix, Michael J. (Julie) Crawley of Guilford and Barbara C. Arnold of Brookville; a daughter-in-law, Julia Crawley of Bloomington; 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two children, Theresa Lynn Crawley and Wilbur Harold Crawley III; a grandson, Brandon Gehrich; a sister, Ruth Schuck, two brothers, John Lang and Robert Lang. 

Friends and family may visit from 9 to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Pastor Mark Garrett will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, with burial following in Holy Guardian Angel Cemetery in Cedar Grove.
