Donald M. Derenski

Donald M. Derenski, Sr., of Cedar Grove, was born on October 22, 1937, in Hamilton, Ohio a son to Henry and Bertha Ratliff Derenski.  He graduated from Whitewater High School in 1955 and later married Truie Mae Goodman in 1957.  Don was a machinist for 45 years at Dresser Roots Blower.  He enjoyed gun collecting and trading.  Don also loved to take care of his farm and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. On Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the age of 87, Don passed away at Envive of Brookville.  

Those surviving who will cherish Don’s memory include his four sons, Daniel (Lori) Derenski, David (Krissy) Derenski, J. Scott Derenski, and J. Michael Derenski; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Derenski; two sisters Debbie Baker and Patty King, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Truie and one son, Donald Derenski Jr.

Friends gathered and remembered Don on Tuesday, March 4 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.  Don’s grandson, Pastor Nathan Derenski, officiated the service at 1 p.m. and burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
