Truie Mae Derenski of Cedar Grove, was born on May 17, 1937, in Yancey, Ky., the daughter of Albert and Mary Chambers Goodman.
She married Donald Merle Derenski on July 6, 1957 in Connersville, and together they raised five sons.
Truie loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family, she especially loved babysitting the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the age of 80, Truie passed away at Brookville Health Care.
Those surviving, who will cherish Truie’s memory include her loving husband of more than 60 years, Donald Derenski; sons, Donald Merle (Brenda) Derenski, Jr. of Batesville, Daniel (Lori) Derenski of Lawrenceburg, David (Krissy) Derenski of Graham, Wash., Jonathan Scott Derenski of Cedar Grove and James Michael Derenski of Brookville; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Friends visited with the family on Tuesday, January 9, at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home. Truie’s grandson, Nathan, officiated the service and burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
