Clyde Marcum age 83, passed away on December 31, 2017.
Clyde was born, a twin, in Hamilton, Ohio on February 18, 1934, to Robert and Martha (Roark) Marcum. His twin, Claude, died in early childhood.
Clyde was a very kind, loving, gentle, and humble man best known and admired as a musician, playing lead guitar in the tri-state area. He received recognition for his talent from the public and Nashville in 1972, when he received the Midwest All-Star Country Outstanding Talent Award. This was a truly memorable moment for Clyde. He considered his talent a gift of God. His career expanded through stage performances, night clubs, and back-up work for professional country artists.
Clyde worked for the Singer Company for many years and was also a member of the Kentucky Colonels.
In 1953, Clyde married Delores Perry (now deceased) and to this union was born three daughters and one son. During his second marriage to Ruth Cox Lawson, he was step-father to Ruth's daughter, Gina Lawson.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy (wife, Jean); sister, Georgia (husband, Garnett) McGuire; and sister, Darlene (husband, Earl) Richardson.
Surviving siblings are brothers, Robert (Bob) Mar-cum Jr., Tom Marcum and Dennis Marcum; and sister, Sharon (David) Harris. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Wiseman; children, Cindy (Terry) Hacker, Lois (Bill) Nichols, Diane Marcum; and son, Tommy Marcum; grandchildren, Jeremy (Dawn) Hacker, Lisa (Patrick) Lynch, Tracy (Derrick) McIntosh, Sarah Barnes, Joseph Barnes and Aaron Marcum; great grandchildren, Dakota Hacker, Alexis Hacker, Ciara Hacker, Trent Houchin, Cameron Lynch, Blake McIntosh, Alaina McIntosh and Ava Marcum; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, January 21, from 1-5 p.m., at The Orioles Nest Social Club, 3010 S. Main St., Middletown, Ohio 45044. (Paid obituary.)
