Guidelines for letters

• Letters to the editor brought into the office must be signed, and the person whose signature is on the bottom of the letter must have identification. Letters to the editor, which are mailed or emailed to the office, must also contain a telephone number where the person whose signature is on the letter can be contacted for verification.
• Letters will be edited for libelous statements.
• Mr. and Mrs. signatures will not be acceptable. Full names are required.
• Letters with more than 300 words may be edited.
