The Franklin County Health Department and Franklin Co. Sheriff’s Department have announced a fifth death suspected to be related to the COVID-19 outbreak. The news was released late Tuesday, March 31, after FCHD was notified earlier in the day.

The man in his 70s had been a patient at an Ohio hospital since March 22. Due to privacy laws, no further information will be released.

Officials also announced four new positive cases – all adults – of the virus in the county, bringing the total to 38 overall. That number is up from 26 in the past three days.
