The IHSAA softball state finals were held Friday and Saturday. Friday, Tecumseh outlasted South Central (Union Mills) 11-5 to capture the A championship. It was Tecumseh's fourth title. In an excellent 3A nightcap, South Bend St. Joseph nipped Tri-West Hendricks Co. 1-0 in nine innings for the school's first such title.

Class 2A opened Saturday's action. Eastside topped North Posey 2-1 to finish 29-1 and grab the hardware for the first time in 24 years. Roncalli's Lady Royals completed a perfect 33-0 season by clobbering West Lafayette Harrison in 4A, 16-0. It was the school's second straight title. Keagan Rothrock, the Gatorade National Player of the Year who committed to the University of Florida as a seventh-grader, upped her season record to an incredible 28-0 by striking out 15.
