The Lady Wildcat tennis team made it past the first round of the Richmond regional May 25, defeating Cambridge City Lincoln 4-1. The next night, however, brought FC’s third loss of the season to the Lawrenceburg Tigers as LHS advanced to the semistate with a 5-0 win.

Elise Klei at No. 2 singles won 6-3, 6-2 on Tuesday, as did Kacie Williams at No. 3 singles (6-1, 6-2). Both doubles units won; Grace Roth and Rae Ertel won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1 while Nicole Mears and Kaylin Knapp were 6-2, 7-5 winners at No. 2. Allie Routh lost her contest at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-3.

Lawrenceburg had all the momentum Wednesday, not dropping a set. Routh fell to Elle McMullen 7-5, 6-1 and Klei lost 6-0, 6-2 to Gracie Safaviyan. Evelyn McAndrew defeated Williams 6-4, 6-2. Roth/Ertel were defeated 6-3, 7-5 by Ella McAndrew and Calli Pope; Jasmyn Blackburn and Lola Safaviyan got by Mears/Knapp 6-4, 6-4.
