RICHMOND - The Batesville Lady Bulldogs’ golf team kicked off the season on Monday with the annual season-opening Richmond Invitational at Richmond Elks Country Club.

On a hot and sticky day, the Lady Bulldogs came in lowest among the nine teams competing to repeat as team champions. Batesville got a runner-up individual finish from senior Addyson Weiler (even par 71) and third-place effort from junior Ava South (75) to start the season off right.

The BHS girls looked to make it 2-for-2 at the Union County Lady Patriots’ annual invitational Tuesday at Liberty Country Club. The New Albany Invitational is Saturday at Valley View Golf Course in Floyd Knobs with Silver Creek, Jennings County, Madison Consolidated, and Scottsburg also competing.

Oldenburg Academy golfs at Switzerland County Monday, with the Lady Twisters’ soccer team traveling to Triton Central Tuesday.
