The Rushville boys soccer team hosted the Morristown Yellow Jackets and the Southwestern Spartans for a jamboree on Saturday. Each team played one half against each other to prepare for the upcoming season.

The Lions and Yellow Jackets started the jamboree with Morristown winning the half 2-1. Morristown got the first goal, but Rushville responded with a goal by senior Jose Leon assisted by freshman Logan Montgomery.

The Lions and Spartans ended the jamboree with a 2-2 tie. The Spartans jumped out a 2-0 lead, but Rushville kept fighting and scored two goals in the last five minutes. The first goal was from a quick counterattack by the Lions. Sophomore Colten England found fellow sophomore Korbin Mastin who assisted senior Griffin Norris’ goal. Norris beat one defender and a quick dribble around the goalie for Rushville’s first score. The next goal was a penalty kick scored by England set up by freshman Anderson Smith getting fouled in the penalty box.

The young Lions gained some valuable experience during this jamboree and will take this into the season.

RCHS heads to Batesville Thursday to face the Bulldogs.
