Herbert Rosenberger

Herbert Francis Rosenberger, age 81, of Brookville, passed away Thursday, July 11th, 2024.  Born February 7, 1943, in Franklin County, he was the Son of Otto A. and Clara J. Sauerland Rosenberger.  He married Roberta Race on May 30, 1964, at St. Michael’s in Brookville, she preceded in death on July 16, 2006.                             

Herbert was a lifelong carpenter and most of his life worked with Lambert Home Building, Monroe Masonry and was also well known to help others with home repairs.

Herbert loved watching others coming in and out of 52 pik-up, NAPA and Tom’s Sales and Service.  He also enjoyed watching sports and motorcar racing on TV.  He was also known to patrol the roads in his red GMC truck on a regular basis to ensure everyone was driving within the speed limit in town.

Those surviving who will honor Herbert’s memory include sisters Joyce and (Neil) Lambert of Blooming Grove, Donna and (Louie) Gesell of St. Peters, Karen and (Jeff) Weir of Eaton, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents and wife, Roberta, he was preceded in death by brother Don Rosenberger, sisters Janet Miller, Alberta “Bertie” Smith, Shirley Helms and Phyllis Riedman.   

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday July, 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s in Brookville.  Burial followed in St. Michael’s Cemetery.  Friends visited at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home 929 Main St. Brookville, IN 47012.
