NEW PALESTINE – Marcella Lee Whipple, 91, passed away surrounded by her family on July 18, 2024, in Indianapolis. She was born on March 21, 1933, in Eaton, Ohio to Harry H. and Lena Lucille O’Dell. She married J.W. Whipple, her husband of 40 years, in 1951 and they spent their lives working together and raising five children on their farm in Liberty. In recent years, Marcella resided in New Palestine and was an active member of Community Christian Church. She was known for her selflessness, eloquence, quiet strength, and love of our great country.

She is survived by her son, Kim Whipple (Patricia) of Liberty; four daughters, Kandace Whipple of Liberty, Pamela Folino of Dayton, Ohio, Leanne Gallegos (Telis) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Angela Henry (Steven) of New Palestine; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, September 7, 2024, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00pm at Community Christian Church, 3123 South 500 West, New Palestine, IN 46163.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Community Christian Church, 3123 South 500 West, New Palestine, IN 46163, or your favorite charity.
