James M. Quinlan

James Michael Quinlan, age 75, of Brookville, passed peacefully Monday, November 4, 2024 at Vitas Hospice Inpatient Care Unit in Cincinnati.

Born September 9, 1949 in Georgetown, Ohio he was the son of the late Edgar E. and Elizabeth M. (Mabes) Quinlan.  On July 17, 1993 he was united in marriage to the former Donna Bolington, and she survives.  

Jim was retired, having worked for over 20 years at the former Shillito’s Department Store in Cincinnati, and then retiring from Walmart.  In his leisure time he enjoyed watching old western movies, shooting pool, traveling, NASCAR racing, and fishing with his brother and nephews.

He was a member of the Brookville United Methodist Church.

Besides Donna, his loving wife of over 31 years, survivors include two children, Darren Thomas of Walton, Kentucky and Denise Bishop of Brookville; seven grandchildren, Taylor (Marisa) Bosse, Paige (Justin) Montel, Margaret Bosse, Emily Thomas, Cory Bishop, Gabrielle Thomas, Cole Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Landon Montel, Ben Montel, and Baby Bosse; his nieces and nephews, Mark (Deborah) Gast, Shannon (Tammy) Gast, John (Melissa) Quinlan, Susan (Mark) Zink; as well as three great-nieces, Megan Gast, Marilyn Gast Staggs, and Delaney Zink.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as three siblings, John Thomas Quinlan, Mary Jo Quinlan Davenport, Patricia Quinlan.

 Family and friends may visit from 10 till 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Brookville United Methodist Church, 150 East 8TH Street, Brookville.

Rev. Steve Rundel will officiate the funeral service at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Brookville United Methodist Church.
