Busy week of golf

Thursday the Franklin County Lady Wildcats traveled to the Links at Rising Star to take on EIAC opponent, the South Dearborn Knights, in a makeup match. “The Lady Cats dominated and played their best golf so far this year with three athletes having a new season low score and two athletes tying their season low score,” said coach Brandon Cowen. 

Emma Tolhurst earned medalist with a season-low score of 39 as FC won big 174-236. Annie Hoff shot 42 while Serena Silas (46) and Audrey Mears (47) each had season bests; Maddie Hoff carded 49.

Saturday FC traveled to Arbor Crossing Golf Club to compete in a strong field at the Connersville Spartan Invitational. FC placed 12th among 16 with 443. New Palestine took 1st place shooting a 357. Tournament medalist went to Rowan Pies (East Central) with a score of 78. 

Mears paced the Cats with 99. Tolhurst (112), A. Hoff (113), M. Hoff (119) and Silas (124) followed.

Monday the Wildcats took on the East Central Trojans and the Harrison (Ohio) Wildcats at municipal Brook Hill Golf Club. EC took the victory with a score of 174. FC was second with 189 and Harrison placed third with 194. Pies medaled with a score of 34 (-1). 

Silas led FC’s effort with 46; Mears had 47, the Hoffs 48, Tolhurst and Ruby Singer 49, Jaelyn Grimmeissen 56 and Natalee Lykins 59.

FC (8-2) visits New Castle this afternoon.
