Barbara M. Hirt, age 91, of Brookville passed away September 8, 2024 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital with family members at her bedside. Barbara was born to George and Alma (Berens) Hirt on February 7, 1933, in Oldenburg. She was an elementary school teacher and principal at schools in St. Louis Missouri and Cincinnati. Even after retirement she would fill in as substitute teacher and work Bingo every week with her Bingo group. She was a very independent person and made God and family priority in her life. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Georgene, Mitzi, and Joan, and brother Paula. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. 

Fr. Vince will officiate the memorial Mass on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10 am, at the Convent Chapel, 22143 Main Street, Oldenburg, Indiana 47036.
