Jane Albertson, 86, of Spiceland went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 10, 2024.  She was born in Rushville to Victor and Mary (Matlack) Pope.  She accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized at The First Baptist Church in Rushville, when she was a teenager.

Upon graduation from high school, she worked as a bookkeeper for Hoosier Dairy in Rushville, IN.  She met the love of her life and married Dale Albertson on October 18, 1959.  After their children were in school, she worked several years for the Muse Brothers Stop 3 Truck Stop as a bookkeeper.

She enjoyed family vacations to Florida, Great Smoky Mountains and Yellowstone with her husband and children.  She and the family also enjoyed camping at Robinson Lake over many years.  Jane and Dale spent part of the year in Fort Myers Beach, Fla. during the winter months.

Jane belonged to several different quilting clubs. The most recent one was at the Spiceland Friends Church.  She loved playing Bingo and was well known for her long-winded telephone conversations.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Albertson; her sons, Eric (Teresa) and Kirk Albertson; her granddaughter, Erin Albertson whom she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carolyn Stultz and a daughter, Beth Ann.

Many thanks to the Henry Community Health Hospice who were professional, kind and caring 24 hours a day.  This service allowed her to spend her last days at home.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors David Brock and Eric Bowman officiating.  Burial followed in Circle Grove Cemetery. Visitation was prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Spiceland Friends Church, P.O. Box 27, Spiceland, IN 47385.
