Gary W. McAvene, 68 of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He was born on August 31, 1956 in Dayton, Ohio to Paul E. McAvene and Loraine French McAvene.

Gary had worked at various manufacturing jobs. 

Gary enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. During the summers you could often find Gary down by the river camping with his family. He enjoyed going canoeing and spending time with his family in the great outdoors.

Gary is survived by his sister, Pamela (Tommy) Davis; sister-in-law, Stephanie McAvene; nieces and nephews, Jeremy (Angie) Tipton, Dereck (Courtney) Tipton, Dustin (Allison) Tipton, Mallory (Travis) Helton, Melissa Davis, Zach (Emma) Davis, Ashlie (Patrick) Painter, Emmie (Josh) Brewer and Cassie (David) Jamison; and 14 great nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Loraine McAvene and his brother, Paul Douglas McAvene. 

A memorial service will take place on Friday September 27, 2024 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Hanna’s Creek Christian Church located at 2584 E Kitchel Road Liberty, IN 47353.
