Carol Gosciniak

Carol Jean (Zimmer) Gosciniak, 75, of Vevay, IN, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025. Carol was born in Batesville, IN on July 8, 1949; a daughter of the late William and Marjorie (Muntz) Zimmer. Carol was married to Joseph Henry Gosciniak, who preceded her in death.

 Carol was a graduate of The Christ College of Nursing. Following graduation, she went on to create a legacy of care with a career of over 40 years in nursing by working for numerous hospitals such as University of Cincinnati, St. Elizabeth (formerly St. Luke), Margaret Mary, and Good Samaritan. In addition to her passion for nursing, Carol greatly enjoyed birdwatching, cooking and baking for her family, traveling, and thrifting. Some of her favorite memories were made while camping with her family and going fishing. In addition to the immense joy her family brought her, Carol enjoyed the special companionship of her beloved favorite child “Boots”.

In addition to her dog Boots, Carol is survived by sons Joseph Gosciniak (Camille), Justin Gosciniak, Joshua Gosciniak (Holly), and Jacob Gosciniak (Ashley); daughters Lisa Allen, Kristine Thompson (Timothy), and Janelle Lustig (Stephen); brother Daryl Zimmer (Gretchen); sister Cheryl Hall; son-in-law Bo; daughter-in-law Allison; as well as many, many grandchildren.  

Carol was preceded in death by her parents William and Majorie (Muntz) Zimmer, husband Joseph Henry Gosciniak, son Jordan Gosciniak; daughter Kimberly Guerrero; and granddaughters Brooklyn Lustig and Emily Lustig.

Services will be held Sunday, January 19th, at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation 1:00 - 3:00 PM with funeral at 3:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
