John A. Snyder, age 83, of Connersville, passed away Thursday, October 1, at Reid Hospital of Richmond. He had been in failing health for a few weeks.

He was born November 25, 1936 in Fayette County, one of three sons of Raymond and Louise Bunyard Snyder.

He attended St. Gabriel School and graduated from Connersville High School in 1956. He then served in the Indiana National Guard for ten years.
A lifelong resident of Fayette County, he farmed the Raymond Snyder Family Farms all his life.

He was a member of St. Gabriel Church, a member of Indiana Farm Bureau Association, and for fifty years, was active in the FFA.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harold A. Snyder and Raymond Snyder, Jr., four aunts, and an uncle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, by Reverend Dustin Boehm at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Burial with military rites conducted by the Fayette County Veterans Council will take place in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, where the rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of John to St. Gabriel School.
