Former Franklin County High School track and field standout and future Thomas More University Saint Grace Kruthaupt competed at the Speed Capital Midwest Invitational 2021 held at Riverview Health Stadium, Westfield on July 2-3 of last month.

In the 17-18-year-old division, Kruthaupt finished runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.03 seconds. The 2021 FCHS graduate also competed in the 200-meter dash; her time of 27.16 seconds was good for seventh place among 18 fellow female sprinters.

Kruthaupt was one of the few unaffiliated athletes at the SC invite as most competitors were representing various track clubs in the Midwest. For instance, Kacyra Simmons of the Indiana Storm was the 200 meters winner (25.09) while the Dayton Wolverines’ Erin Starks posted a winning time of 15.21 in the 100 meters hurdles.

Speed Capital is an organization dedicated to the parents, athletes, coaches and clubs of youth track and field. In service to these individuals, SC’s team of subject matter experts have outlined a strategy aimed at enhancing their overall track and field experience.

SC’s primary objective is developing the student-athlete with an aim to get as many athletes as possible to realize their dream of competing collegiately, while also focusing on academic success. Through partnerships with coaches and personal trainers, SC offers training tutorials in several conditioning disciplines.
