Ella V. “Sally” Bonar, 92, of Byesville OH, died Wednesday (May 5, 2021) at her home. She was born January 6, 1929 near Fairview, daughter of the late Charles Gray and Atha (Betts) Gray.

Sally graduated from Old Washington High School in 1946. She worked at March Electric and retired in 1992 after 36 years. She was a member of the FOE #386 Auxiliary. She attended Old Washington United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Gray and Lawrence Gray; three sisters, Edith Redd, infant sister Edna, and infant sister Elsie; two half-sisters; and two half-brothers.

She is survived by her husband, Neil E. Bonar, whom she married December 19, 1969; two stepchildren, David (Denise) Bonar of Trinity AL and Beverly Ann (Tom) Thompson of Wayne Lakes OH; two nieces, Betty (Larry) Parry of Lore City OH and Pam (Jamie) Rice of Warsaw OH; three nephews, Arthur (Eloise) Gray of Salesville OH, Paul Gray of Senecaville OH, and David Gray (Beverly Culler) of Cambridge OH; many great-nieces and great-nephews, including Diane (Rick) Gates of Zanesville OH; four step-grandsons; and several step-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her caregivers and to Hospice of Guernsey.

Visitation will be held Friday (May 7, 2021) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, (231 E Main Avenue, Byesville OH 43723), where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Clayton Coffey officiating.
Burial will be at Old Washington Cemetery, Old Washington OH.

As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725. Personal condolences may be sent to the family at www.black-eppersonfuneralhomes.com
