Be sure not to miss the Union County Fireman's Festival coming up this Friday, Sept. 10. The event will be held on 112 Union St., in West College Corner - just come to town, you can't miss it.

The festival will be holding a tractor show on Sept. 10-11. For those interested, tractors can be dropped off anytime after 10 a.m. on Friday; plus, commemorative plaques will be given to all the participants. For questions, call Thomas Study at 513-839-1478 or Brad Wiwi at 765-969-8743. According to the WCCFD, they have several entries already for the tractor show and expect a nice turnout.

On Sept. 11, the Fireman's Festival will be hosting its second annual car show. The show starts at 4 p.m. Registration for the car show is from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. Day of show registration is $15. If you pre-register, the cost is $10. To pre-register, contact Ryan Niehoff at 513-313-4448. Over 50 trophies will be awarded for the event, along with dash plaques for all the participants. During the event, big basket raffles will be available to anyone attending. The baskets all full of all kinds of goodies, along with separate bigger items for the raffle like a television, Coleman outdoor grill, air fryer and much more.

If you're hungry, the firemen will be there cooking food both days. On Friday, they will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs and chuck fries. On Saturday, they will be frying chicken dinners for $12. This includes three pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll and desert. The firemen will be using two new fryers for the event, one a brand new unit worth over $10,000, generously donated by Henny Penny a couple months ago in preparation for the festival.

Tractor and car shows, raffles, chicken dinners- not to mention, they have organized a beer garden and DJ; it goes without saying, the Union County firemen have collectively organized a couple of fun days for the community. If you have the time, stop by and enjoy it. All proceeds benefit both College Corner and Liberty Fire departments.
