Recently, the Union County Health Department partnered with Family Services and Prevention Programs for a project focusing on youth substance use and misuse.

Union County was one of 14 counties to receive a CRRSA Capacity Grant from the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction. The grant is focused on looking for gaps and resources to meet Union County needs.

Kim Klein, UCHD, is reaching out to community leaders and stakeholders to assist with efforts and Kay Riker-Peyton is serving as the project coordinator and developing a youth data and resource profile. This 18-month grant is currently focusing on assessment, parts of capacity and some planning efforts. In a couple of months, they will build a steering committee.

Since then, the group has put out a survey through its Facebook page, Union County CRRSA Capacity Grant. The survey is to gain perspective on Union County residents' opinions on substance use in the community. The information will be used to provide more resources in the community. The survey is anonymous and should take no longer than five minutes.

The survey link can be found on their Facebook page, along with additional information and resources.
