Doodle Chad's All-breed Grooming is a newly opened business with a passion for pets. The passion that inspired the business is the same passion that led Chad and Lora Christy to the Franklin County Animal Shelter on an open Monday afternoon. Lora had seen a post on the shelter's Facebook page looking for volunteers.

"The animal shelter kind of popped up on a Monday when we really didn't have much going on," Chad said. "We called down there, and they said they could get a little help for us (to bathe and groom the dogs)."

Chad and Lora didn't want recognition for bathing and grooming the dogs, saying volunteering was something they wanted to do anyway and saw this as a way to utilize their passion and profession.

Chad and Lora connected with the animal shelter that made the day extra special as they rescued a dog from there.

Chad and his wife moved to Metamora about six years ago from the Cincinnati area, where Chad had been a professional dog groomer and managed salons for over 15-years. Chad has loved every minute as a groomer but envisioned a pet salon with a much more personal touch over the years.

On Valentine's Day, 2022, Chad's vision became a reality when Doodle Chad's All Breed Grooming opened its doors. It is a small warm space with top-notch equipment where Chad and Lora can provide top-notch service for each animal instead of focusing on volume and how many animals they can get through the shop.

Small town community values are on the top of Chad and Lora's priority list.
"Building a relationship with our clients is one of our main goals here," Chad shared. "We try to keep this affordable for people, so they can get their pets on a regular schedule."

Doodle Chad's is located at 10143 Goose Creek Rd. in Metamora. Appointments can be made by calling (765) 265-2603.
