Sharon Ann Moore, age 77, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday May 8, surrounded by her family at Brickyard Healthcare Center in Elkhart.  Sharon was born to Woodrow and Stella Morrison on October 13, 1944 in Batesville. Sharon married the love of her life, Daniel B. Moore on October 9, 1965 in Brookville.

Sharon graduated from Brookville High School 1962; she received her bachelor and master's degrees from IUPUI. Sharon's love for children led into a full-time childcare service for teachers. She enjoyed reading, crocheting making gifts for her family and friends and volunteering. She was an avid fan of Purdue football and basketball. Sharon and Dan enjoyed fishing, traveling, history and working on the Hugs project. She had a deep love for God, family, America and the US Navy. 

Sharon is survived by her husband of 56 years, their children US Navy Retired Capt. Daniel David (Elspeth) Moore of Oak Harbor, Washington., Melissa L. (Jeff) Rush of Gilbert, Arizona. and PO1 USN Darren Michael (Laura) Moore of Charleston, SC; grandchildren Aurora, Genevieve, Maeli, Garrett, Evelyn, Graden, Alexander and Jayce.

Graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville, IN. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN is entrusted with Sharon's arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hugs Project Benevolent Fund at River Oaks Community Church, 58020 County Road 115, Goshen, IN 46528. A celebration of life service for Sharon will be held at a later date.
