Dwight William Buttery,69, of Liberty passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, Aug.1st, 2023. He was born on March 20th, 1954 to the late Willian and Bettie Buttery of Liberty.
On May 19th, 1985, Dwight married his wife of 38 years, Kim Mathews Buttery.
Dwight was a retired union carpenter out of local 1046 working for Oberle and Associates.
Dwight was an active member of Hannah's Creek Conservation Club. He was also a member of the Whitewater Valley Gun Club where he enjoyed target shooting. Dwight was an avid mushroom and ginseng hunter. He enjoyed relaxing while casting his fishing line and could often be found playing cards with his friends.
He will be greatly missed by his wife and children, Danelle (Rick) Eads, Donald Buttery, Kevin (Tara) Buttery. Dwight is survived by his brother Hugh “Bozie” Nolen; two grandsons, Dylan Buttery and Hunter Buttery. Six granddaughters Kylene Lacy, Kaitlyn Banta, Jennifer Buttery, Alyssa Buttery, Haleigh Buttery, Carlee Buttery. One great-granddaughter Paisley Buttery. He also leaves behind two very dear friends Cecil Dake and Kenny Hilderbrand.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marsha “Katie” Hahn, Mildred “Tootsie” Persinger, Amelia Antrim; and brothers, Granville Nolen and Wayne Nolen.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12th, 2023 at Hannah's Creek Conservation Club at 2:00pm.
