The Batesville Lady Bulldogs traveled to Madison to take on the Lady Cubs in a volleyball match Aug. 15. JV came away with a win in two sets, 25-22, 25-19. Addison Luers led the team with 4 aces and Brooke Wilhelm led the team with 5 assists.
The varsity match went five sets with the Lady Bulldogs coming away with the win. 25-22, 25-14, 21-25, 23-25, 16-14. Ava Powner was a solid 17/17 in serving. Isabelle Wonnell led the team with 5 aces. Blocking – Maddie Haskamp had 6 blocks. Hitting – Reesa Zimmerman led with 15 kills and Sophie Gesell followed with 12 kills. Setting was controlled by Powner with 25 assists and Molly Meer with 17 assists.
Both JV and varsity won vs. Shelbyville Saturday. JV won the match 25-12, 25-18. Wilhelm led the team in serves with 4 aces. Caitlyn Fox led the team in hitting with 7 kills. Caitlyn also went 27/27 in setting with 9 assists. Wilhelm followed with 6 assists.
The varsity won in 3 sets, 25-15, 25-15, 25-16. Wonnell led in serving with 6 aces.
The C team traveled to Rising Sun for a tournament Saturday. They placed 3rd out of 8 teams, winning 2 of 3 games in pool play. Switzerland County – 25-9, 25-7; Milan – 18-25, 20-25; Rising Sun – 25-24, 21-25, 15-8.
Cora Roth led the team in serves with 20 points. She also led the team in kills with 12 followed by Eliza Weiler and Briley Broshears each with 11.
The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Greensburg to face the Lady Pirates Monday. Both JV and varsity were victorious. JV scores: 25-17, 25-18. Wilhelm led the team in serving with 3 aces. Luers and Fox both had 4 kills.
Varsity scores: 25-14, 25-20, 17-25, 25-20. Wonnell led serving with 4 aces.
The Lady Bulldogs hosted Frankin County Tuesday.
