UCCCJSD scores above average on two out of three assessments

State assessment results were released by the Indiana Department of Education for the 2022-23 school year, including the results for Indiana Reading Evaluation and Determination (IREAD-3), Learning Evaluation and Assessment Readiness Network (ILEARN) and the SATS. The Union County/College Corner Joint School District was above average on two out of three assessments. 

IREADI-3 is one of the ways schools can determine the number of students who have mastered foundational reading by the end of the third grade. According to the report released by IDOE the statewide average for those who passed is 81.9%, meaning nearly one in five Hoosier third graders still need help reading. The Liberty/Union County College Corner School District had a passing rate of 89.7%.

 Nearby Batesville Community School Corporation ranked at the top of the list, leading the region with a student passing rate of 97.9%. The percentage also earned them a spot in the top 10 schools statewide.

ILEARN is designed to measure your child's proficiency in the Indiana Academic Standards for Grades 3-8, Biology, and U.S. Government. The statewide average for 3rd-8th grade is 40.7%. UCCCJSD finished above the average with a score of 45.8%
