XC teams underway

Union County's cross country teams competed in the Meister Family Memorial Run at Monroe Central Saturday. The boys were 11th among 11 schools and the girls were incomplete. Eastern Hancock won the boys race and Monroe Central the girls'.
Freshman Tanner Paddock was just outside the top 10 (11th; 18:19) but there was a large drop-off to Wyatt Pearson in 69th (22:37). Landon Klingman was 85th (24:31), Easton Baumbauer 90th (25:34) and Christian Franklin 96th (27:23).
Rayn Story was 55th for the Lady Pats (32:21) and Abbey Hensley 57th (38:23).
UC's middle school girls were 3rd and the boys 8th. Griffin Overholt led the young men (10th; 13:13) while Henley Paddock secured runner-up in the girls' race (13:57).
The Rushville Classic is Saturday.
