Georgia Alice Smith, 83, of Liberty, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Reid Health in Richmond.

Born April 14, 1940, in Franklin County, to Everett Smith and Nina Davis, she grew up in Fairfield, Indiana. She worked at Alcoa/Silgan for 44 years before retiring in 2003. Georgia enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting, and working around her house. Georgia will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include her son: John (Rochelle) Smith of Richmond; grandsons: Brandon and Alex Smith of Richmond; sisters: Janice Wainscott of Fairfield, Ohio, Janet Wright of Liberty; brothers: Freddie Smith of Loraine, Ohio, David Smith of Venice, Florida, Elmer (Vanessa) Davis of Niceville, Florida; step-sister-in-law: Mary Bell Davis and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law: Scottie Wainscott, step-father: Elmer A. Davis Sr., step-siblings: Oleta Wooley, Geneva Cappel, James Davis, Douglas Davis; sister-in-law Bonnie Smith; special friends: Richard Rubush and John Smith Sr. 

A funeral service was conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday August 28, 2023, at Showalter Blackwell Long, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty. Friends visited until the time of service.
