Pauline Wiggins

Pauline Wiggins, 94 of Liberty passed away on December 1, 2023. She was born on September 9, 1929 in Metamora, to the late Ervin Harrison Wolfe and Rosa Anna Baker Wolfe.

Pauline was a 1947 graduate of Brookville High School.

On May 17, 1958 she married John Howard Wiggins in Laurel at the Methodist church; they were able to spend 33 years together before he passed away on December 23, 1991.

Pauline in her earlier years was the newspaper girl in Metamora; also while living in Metamora she worked at the Hearthstone, then onto to the Brookville Fair store for 10 years. Pauline had helped make the plans for the new Pepsi Co. building. In 1962 she and her husband moved to Liberty, where she began raising her family, babysat and worked at the Liberty Restaurant for over 10 years.

Pauline enjoyed baking and making cookies with her children and grandchildren. She cherished her family.

Pauline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim Payne; grandchildren, Jenny (Jason) Kinser and Jay (Amy) Payne; great-grandchildren, Kyliegh, Brady, Charlie, Connor, Henry and Nolan.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Russell Wolfe, Robert Wolfe, Cora Personatte, Gladys Montanye and Thelma Croucher.

The family of Pauline would like to thank her caregivers, Becky Findley and Karen Brown; and many special friends that have helped over the years and a special thank you for the care provided by Asera Care Hospice.

Visitation for Pauline will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St., Liberty. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Shawn Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel North Cemetery.
