Thomas Paris Mahaffey

Thomas Paris Mahaffey 92, of West Harrison, formally of Rushville, passed away December 4, 2023 at Vital Hospice in Cincinnati.

Tom was born September 12, 1931 in Chattanooga, a son of the late Laurence and Amanda (Alton) Mahaffey.  He married Ruby M. Young February 17, 1952 and she passed December 25, 2013.

Tom was an Army veteran and served in the 101st Signal Battalion in Korea.  His established occupation was a lineman for REMC for many years.  He and Ruby were founding members of what is now SHARES Inc.  Tom was past president of the Lions Club and was active in all activities for decades.  Tom worked at Todd Funeral Home before and after he served in Korea. Tom married Lois Braucksick Anderson October 14, 2014 and she survives him.

In addition to his wife, Lois, Thomas is survived by a son, Terry Mahaffey of Shelbyville; grandchildren Josh and Ruby.  One sister, Mildred M. Brooks of Tennessee, also survives.  He is predeceased by his parents, first wife Ruby, and daughter Alice.

Funeral services with military honors will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday December 9, 2023 at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory in Rushville with Pastor Travis Urbie officiating.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  He will be laid to rest at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
