Lisa Ann Tarvin

December 12, 2023 at 2:56 p.m.

Lisa Ann Tarvin, 64, of Connersville passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 3, 2023 while visiting her family in Livingston, Texas.

She was born April 7, 1959 in Cherry Point, North Carolina, one of three children of Donald and Jacqueline Fay Ford and was a graduate of Carroll High School in Corpus Christi.

On November 29, 1986, Lisa was married in the St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brookville, to Troy Richard Tavin of Brookville. Mr. Tarvin survives.

Lisa was an entrepreneur in her own right, helping her husband and brother-in-law start up and run many companies in the Connersville area.  She was the bookkeeper and in charge of running the day-to-day operations in many of these companies.  Later in life she became a credit analyst for Roots-Blower in Connersville and then at Osborn Manufacturing in Richmond.  Lisa finished her career working as a legal assistant in the tax lien department of the Law Offices of Wayne Greeson until she retired in mid-2023 for health reasons.

She was actively involved in the community sitting on the board of Community Sharing Foundation for several years, as treasurer for Peace Lutheran Church, and volunteering with many organizations that her children were involved in from sports to 4-H.

Her greatest love and enjoyment in her early years was raising her children, Richard and Courtney.  As her children grew up, her focus turned to her grandchildren helping her son with R.J. and planning trips to Paoli to see Cash and Cooper.  She was an avid deer hunter, even holding a state record for several years for the largest typical buck harvested by a woman.  She loved spending time on the family pontoon boat at Brookville Lake (her happy place), attending her grandchildren's sporting events, and watching the Indianapolis Colts.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Troy Tarvin; two children, Richard “Rick” Tarvin of Connersville and Courtney (Caleb) Andry of Paoli; three grandchildren, R.J Tarvin, Cash Andry, and Cooper Andry; her mother, Jacqueline Ford of Livingston; two brothers, Donald Ford of Albany, California, Stephen (Donna) Ford of Conroe, Texas; a brother-in-law, Greg (Susie) Tarvin of Corbin, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Marty (Earl) Stenger of Brookville and Bridget Tarvin of Connersville; she is blessed with a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lisa is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Rosie Tarvin; a brother-in-law, Tom Tarvin; an uncle, Bill Fay; paternal and maternal grandparents; and her father, Donald Ford.

Family and friends visited Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Wayne Greeson will officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Sharing Foundation and the Fayette County Foundation. Online condolence may be made anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.
