Wilma Ruth Studt

Wilma Ruth Studt, 83, passed away December 8, 2023 at Heritage House Connersville.

Wilma Ruth (McNally) Studt was born on January 11, 1940 to Albert and Martha (Beasley) McNally on their family farm in Butler County, Ohio.

She graduated Whitewater High School and Ball State University with a B.A and M.A in elementary education. She married Merle W. Studt on June 30, 1962. Mr. Studt passed in 1994.

A devoted community servant, Wilma taught grades kindergarten to second grade from 1962-2004 for Fayette County Schools at 5th Street, Alquina and Everton elementary schools. She taught many generations of Fayette County children and leaves a legacy of public education in her children's careers as teachers.

Wilma was a 50-year leader of the Jackson Hot-shots 4-H Club and served on Fayette County 4-H council for decades. She was an active member of Everton Ever Ready Extension homemakers and relished the competition of exhibiting at the county fair. She was a regular volunteer at county fair judging known for her knowledge and organization. 

Wilma was a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, who loved to read and bake with her grandchildren. She attended every sport, band, and theater performance in which her grandchildren were involved. She kept close touch with her high school and college friends. She was a loyal member of Alquina Church. Wilma lived by the credo, “Finish what you start and love the Lord.”

Survivors include, a brother, Gene (Shirley) McNally of West Harrison; a sister, Mary (Roy) Chesnut of Bath; a son, Randy Studt of Lafayette; a daughter, Sharon (Mike) Reese of Connersville; grandchildren, Tyler (Haylie) Reese, Ryan (Alex Appleby) Reese, and Emily Reese; great-grandchildren, Logan and Lane Reese.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Martha; loving husband of 32 years, Merle W. Studt; and a sister, Martha Armstrong.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Rob Judd at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Burial will follow in Everton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Merle and Wilma Studt Memorial 4-H scholarship, the Fayette County 4-H Foundation, and Alquina Church.
