Nancy J. Franklin “Joan,” age 91, of Liberty, passed away on December 3, 2023.  Nancy was born on February 13, 1932, in Liberty, the daughter of the late James A. and Betty Hampton Jones.

She was united in marriage in the year 1949, to William Howard Franklin.  They enjoyed over 45 years of marriage, and were blessed with three children.

Nancy worked for several years in the customer service industry for Fosdick's furniture store. She was also the head cook for many years at the King's Table and Stout's restaurant.  She enjoyed attending yard sales, collecting antiques, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Nancy's love and memory will be cherished by her daughter, Connie Robbins, son, Jim (Annette) Franklin; and her grandchildren, Mike (Terry) Robbins, Darrell Robbins, Angie (Jason) Toler, Jeremy (Lauren) Franklin, and Jamie (Fred) Steele.  She will be thought of often by her numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Franklin, infant son, William Howard Franklin, brother, Elmer Jones, and sisters, Mary Etta Jones and Goldie Patterson.

Nancy's family would like to thank the caregivers at Whitewater Commons for their love and compassion towards their loved one. 

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home.  Friends gathered with the family until the hour of the service.  Nancy was laid to rest at Springersville Cemetery following the service.
