Rebecca Jane May

Rebecca “Becky” Jane May, 60, of Connersville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, July 13,  at the home of her son, Scott Beckner, in Rushville. She had courageously battled cancer for many years.  

Becky was born Dec. 17, 1962 in Connersville, one of six children of Frank L. and Reva Vivian Holland May. She was a 1981 graduate of Connersville High School. She also spent time studying at Ivy Tech to be a nurse.  

For over seven years, she owned and operated the Falmouth Grocery Store. Later, she became employed at Stant Manufacturing.  

For over twenty years, Becky was a member of Fairview Christian Church where she played the piano for over ten years.  

She was a crafty, creative person who enjoyed painting, crocheting and knitting. Outside, she enjoyed riding her bike and walking.  

Becky had great moral character and always sought to do the right thing. Even during her medical journey, she displayed acts of kindness, always caring for others.   

Survivors include two children, Scott (Brittany) Beckner of Rushville and Amber Gregory of Connersville; five grandchildren, Mia Beckner, Keegan Slone, Landon Slone, Brayden Stamper, and Lilly Stamper; two siblings, Charles A. (Jerry Lou) May and Leanna (James) Grace May Holbrook, both of Connersville; a sister-in-law, Debbie Toler May of Lakeland, Florida; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her best friend of over fifty years, Connie Godar.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings, Eugene May, Linda May Willhelm, and Cynthia Stokes. 

Friends visited Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Burial was in Orange Cemetery.
